Pelatihan Penggunaan Mesin Pencacah dan Pelebur Limbah Plastik untuk Mendukung Pengelolaan Sampah di Desa Banjarwaru Kabupaten Cilacap

Banjarwaru Village, Cilacap Regency, faces a serious problem related to the accumulation of plastic waste that hurts the environment and public health. Limited knowledge and waste management facilities are the main obstacles in efforts to reduce and utilize plastic waste effectively. To address this problem, this community service activity aims to: (1) improve community skills and knowledge in technology-based plastic waste management, (2) introduce and optimize the use of plastic waste shredding and melting machines, and (3) encourage the creation of processed plastic products that have sales value so that they can increase the income of the community and the Banjarwaru Sejahtera BUMDes. The training was carried out in several stages, namely: socialization regarding the importance of plastic waste management in the first week. Technical demonstration of the operation of the plastic waste shredding and melting machine in the second week. Direct assistance in the practice of using the machine and making processed plastic products in the third and fourth weeks of November 2024. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in community skills and understanding of plastic waste processing technology. Activity participants were able to operate the machine independently, understand the equipment maintenance procedures, and utilize the results of waste processing into products with economic value. With the sustainability of this program, Banjarwaru Village has the potential to become a pilot project for environmentally friendly technology-based plastic waste management that is oriented towards improving community welfare.
